Why can't this convert MOBI in the browser?

MOBI is a complex proprietary binary format (PalmDOC / MOBI8) developed for Kindle. Faithfully decoding it requires a full parser that is not available in browser JavaScript.

Will images be preserved?

Yes — Calibre preserves images, cover art, tables of contents, and chapter structure during conversion.

Can I convert DRM-protected MOBI files?

No. DRM-protected files are encrypted by Amazon and cannot be legally converted. Only DRM-free MOBI files can be converted.

What about AZW files from Kindle?
